Riga was the setting for a new international DEA project dedicated to the operational areas of the Porsche Center in the Latvian capital.
The project involved the development of the workstation lines and several solutions designed around the technicians’ daily activities. DEA also supported the site preparation, translating the decisions shared with the client into the detailed drawings required to build the workshop.
Each workstation line was equipped with a sink featuring a stainless steel worktop.
Its position allows technicians to use it without leaving their own work area or having to reach a shared facility located elsewhere in the workshop.
The position of each sink was determined by considering how frequently it would be used and the movements technicians make throughout the day.
A second aspect concerned the plastic bins already used by staff for waste sorting.
The client had chosen standard, spacious models that were already familiar to the technicians. Among the different waste-sorting solutions proposed by DEA, the option best suited to integrating these bins into the workstation lines was selected, preserving their practicality while reducing their visual impact within the workshop.
The bins remain easily accessible and continue to be used according to established working habits. The selected configuration prevents them from remaining separate from the workstations and helps create a more consistent environment.
The solution addresses an existing need without introducing unnecessary changes for staff, while preserving both the storage capacity and the established methods of use.
POWERLAB was also installed at Porsche Center Riga. This support system for battery chargers and charge maintainers is designed to ensure safety and order within the work area.
Thanks to its automatic up-and-down movement, the structure can be brought closer to the vehicle during operations and raised again after use. Electrical outlets, connections and supports are kept in a defined position, preventing cables from lying on the floor and avoiding obstructions around the vehicle.
The necessary equipment remains accessible to technicians, while the area around the workstation stays clear and orderly.
Defining the workshop layout is only part of the work. Before installation, the exact positions of utilities, connections and routing points must be established so that the site preparations match the final workstation configuration.
For Porsche Center Riga, DEA prepared the detailed drawings based on the decisions shared with the client. These documents contain the technical information required by electricians, plumbers and the other professionals involved, providing a common reference for the work to be carried out in the workshop.
The detailed drawing turns what was established during the design phase into practical instructions. Dimensions, positions and routing paths are specified before assembly so that each operation can be carried out with the furniture and services to be installed later in mind.
For the Riga project, this support helped keep the choices approved by the client aligned with the activities carried out on site, even with several different professionals involved.
