Following the installations already completed in Finland, DEA’s collaboration with the VEHO Group continues in Riga with a new project for Mercedes-Benz.

The workshop’s unconventional layout called for a tailored design approach capable of accommodating the structural constraints of the space, including columns and pedestrian walkways.

DEA’s self-supporting configurations also made it possible to make full use of the available height, combining overhead cabinets with roller-shutter modules while maintaining generous storage space above the worktop.

Making use of vertical space

The Mercedes-Benz VEHO Riga workshop featured a layout that differed from a more conventional workshop arrangement.

The presence of columns and pedestrian walkways meant the workstations had to be organised around the existing constraints without sacrificing valuable for tools and materials.

Because DEA configurations are self-supporting, they can also be developed vertically. In this project, overhead cabinets and roller-shutter modules were combined to make use of the upper part of the installation, increasing storage capacity without taking up additional floor space.

 This proved to be a particularly useful solution in a workshop where every available area had to be used efficiently. 

More storage above the worktop

The DEA overhead cabinets used in these configurations are 60 cm high and 33 cm deep, dimensions designed to provide additional storage directly above the workstations.

The door structure is also specifically designed for workshop use. A reinforcing rib provides additional strength and rigidity, allowing technicians to open and close the cabinet from the side without the door flexing or swaying.

This construction detail becomes particularly relevant when the modules are used frequently and positioned directly above the worktop.

Fluid distribution integrated into the panelling

Another important aspect of the project involved the fluid distribution system.

Thanks to DEA’s bar system, the pipe drops for fluid distribution were integrated behind the panelling. This allowed easy access to the distribution module during installation while maintaining a clean and organised overall appearance.

The oil monitoring system was also integrated into the panelling as part of the workstation configuration.

The project also benefited from the support of a local partner, who contributed to the work required to complete the installation.

A new project for the VEHO Group

Mercedes-Benz VEHO Riga marks a further step in the collaboration between DEA and the VEHO Group, following the installations already completed in Finland.

In this case, the workshop’s distinctive layout led to a configuration that made full use of the available vertical space while integrating selected technical systems directly into the panelling.

A new international project that brings together the specific requirements of the facility with the flexibility of DEA’s modular configuration system.
